Meet the writer - Christy Colgan
I fell in love with running when I was 12 and turned it into a lifetime sport. After running Cross Country in high school, I attended East Carolina University where I earned a degree in Exercise Physiology. I moved back to my hometown, Raleigh, NC, in 2007 and worked at a local gym as a personal trainer, and started a career in corporate wellness in 2008. I got my MBA from North Carolina State University in 2013.
I started running marathons in 2008 and ran the 2013 Boston Marathon. Today, I am a mom of three boys and run for exercise and sanity.
Over the past ten years, I have coached hundreds of people to run their first 5K, 10Ks, half and full marathons. I created this blog to share training tips and plans that I have gotten from trainees over the years in hope to help readers learn to love the run!
In addition to running, I am also a mom of three boys (under three) and love all things Disney. Look for some posts on mom life and Disney in addition to running tips!
